A New Start

For several days now, this blog has been in the back of my mind. I'm not exactly sure when or why, but I had the sudden urge to post again.

About two months after my last post, it occurred to me that this blog would just be a short-lived extension of myself and who I was at that moment in time. And maybe it still is. Maybe this post won't change anything. Maybe this will be no different than last time. Maybe I'll disappear again. I can't say for sure, but I really do want to find out.

I first started in February of 2025, with the goal of creating a blog centered around health food. I had dozens of posts planned out, whether it be about some new low calorie ingredient or some other high protein recipe. I hit publish on four posts, and then basically ditched this like a newborn left outside a fire station. I could give a hundred excuses why, but it doesn't really matter. What matters is where I take this blog from here. I'm hoping this post can keep me accountable.

Despite all the advice online that says to maintain a niche, I don't know that I will. I'm okay with that. I feel more called to write about several different topics related to my personal experiences. Some of those may include health, nutrition, or recipes, but others could be quite different. As a whole, I think my 'niche' would be self-improvement. Not just physically, but mentally and spiritually too.

I believe that part of the reason why I felt so eager to post again is because I have so much to say. Apart, from the fact that I love to yap, I really do have a lot of ideas about where to take this. This blog is more for me than it is for you. In fact, I'm 99% certain that the only you reading this is my future self, in which case this is more for you than me.

While reading back my old posts, all four of them to be exact, I cringed a bit. I also know that when I'm reading this back in one year, I will cringe. I guess it's a sign of growth. Either that, or just stupidity; maybe both in this case.

One of my excuses for never posting is that, despite loving writing, even just these short posts took me forever. That's not necessarily due to a lack of idea, but more so obsessing over every single word. Even now, writing this post has taken me a good hour and a half so far. I keep thinking to myself, this word doesn't sound right, or I can't figure out how to say this sentence. I don't even know what to title this post right now. I know that perfection isn't my friend in this process, yet I can't help but think about it every second.

All that being said, I really hope I do keep posting here. These posts, in a way, are just a more public collection of my thoughts. If I'm reading this in 2027 and I have a total of five posts on this blog, what in the world are you still doing?
